RV Extended Warranties

We don't think of them as a warranty. They are more like an insurance policy that safeguards our customers from any unforeseen large expense for literal pennies on the dollar. Extended warranties for RVs are very reasonably priced, especially on new RVs. Let me give you an example: A new 2009 Coachmen Mirada has a sale price of approximately $95,000. A 5yr/50K mile "Platinum Coverage" extended warranty for this unit would only cost $1,790.00. That means for only $358.00 per year you have protected yourself from any out pocket expense other than a small deductible. If you are financing, that same warranty would only cost you about $15.00 per month. Also, when you have a warranty card you are given preferred service at many facilities throughout the country.

Extended warranties are also prorated and transferable. That means if you sold the unit and wanted to get your prorated portion back you can. That also means you would have the option to sell your then used RV with an intact warranty making it far more desirable to the next owner.

Here is something else to ask yourself before deciding to buy or not to buy an extended RV warranty. Do you think that the RV will require some service over the first five years? If you answered yes, you answered correct! Motor homes are a great way to travel, but like anything manmade they will require some service. With that in mind, if you don't have a warranty, you are going to spend at least two or three hundred bucks a year to maintenance the RV anyways. Remember the example? It only cost $358.00 per year and you don't have to worry about the expensive components like the engine, generator or slide-out rooms. You're covered!
