The Heartland Story
Heartland has been reshaping the RV industry since 2003, when the company launched in partnership with Brian Brady, a former partner and president at Damon Corp. Heartland started with a luxury 5th wheel, a new approach to the towable market at the time. Spurred on by A.J. The 88-Degree Turning Radius
Some Heartland 5th wheels tow easily behind the popular short-bed, extended-cab pickup truck. That's thanks to the patented 88-degree turning radius. Here's why it matters. Short-bed trucks pulling fifth wheels often hit the truck cab against the corner of the trailer's fiberglass front cap in tight turns. That damages both the truck and the 5th wheel. Heartland's front-end design solved the problem. It also removed the need for an expensive slider hitch on short-bed, extended-cab trucks.
The Universal Docking Center (UDC)
Many Heartland RVs feature the Universal Docking Center. The UDC is one compartment that holds all the major hookups for a 5th wheel: water, TV, phone, satellite, holding tank access, and flush hookups. Before Heartland, holding tank pull handles often sat in hard-to-reach spots, like under slide-outs. Centralized docking centers had only been offered on expensive motorhomes.
