Things to do in Big Bend National Park include hiking, floating in the Rio Grande, biking birding, climbing, taking ranger-led programs, and visiting such amazing locations as Casa Grande Peak in the Chisos Basin Area, as well as the Persimmon Gap Area. The Panther Junction Area is a great beginning point for your Big Bend explorations, and there is also plenty to do and see in the Castolon Area and the Rio Grande Village Area.
Big Bend National Park offers a wide range of hiking trails. The different trails include self-guiding trails, east side hikes, west side hikes, north end hikes, mountain hikes, hiking the High Chisos, as well as backcountry dayhikes. In the Chisos Basin, RV campers can stay at the Chisos Basin Campground, which offers 60 sites. Due to Chisos Basin’s rugged and hilly terrain, RVs longer than 24 feet are not recommended.
